Your Samsung Wallet
To check whether you are using eftpos savings or Visa as your payment option on your Samsung device:
- Check which payment option is selected when making a transaction. Select Visa and then attempt the transaction.
- To remove eftpos as a visible option, you’ll need to delete and re-add your card to your digital wallet. You’ll need your physical card to complete this.
NOTE: Visa is the only payment option available on Samsung devices at this time.
To add, update or reinstall your card to your digital wallet, you’ll need your physical card handy for the CVV number.
Follow these steps to get on your way faster
1. Open your Samsung pay app and sign into your Samsung account.
2. Confirm your verification method and register your PIN.
3. Select ‘add card’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. If prompted, select the preferred visa payment option in the wallet.
5.You can now use your card as normal on your Samsung device.
NOTE: If your card is already in your wallet but not working, you may need to remove your card and re-install it following the above steps.

Things you should know
Terms and Conditions
Samsung Pay allows you and additional cardholders to make payment transactions using a Hume Bank Visa Debit or Credit Card loaded onto a compatible Samsung device and registered with Samsung at participating merchants.
Samsung Pay provides you with an additional way to transact on your linked account.
Hume Bank Samsung Pay Terms and Conditions apply each time a Hume Bank card registered on Samsung Pay is used.
1. Agreement to these Terms and Conditions
You agree that you accept these Terms and Conditions by adding your card to Samsung Pay.
These Terms and Conditions apply in addition to:
- Hume Bank’s Digital Wallet Terms & Conditions;
- Relevant Account Terms and Conditions available in Hume Bank’s Product Disclosure Statement;
- Fees & Charges – Personal Credit Cards;
- Terms, Conditions, Fees & Charges for Hume Bank’s Visa Debit Card; and/or
- Conditions of Use – Personal and Business Credit Cards.
2. Samsung Pay provided by Samsung
Samsung Pay is provided by Samsung, not by Hume Bank.
Hume Bank is not liable for the use, functionality or availability of Samsung Pay, any Samsung Device or any disruption caused from the availability of contactless merchant terminals or reduced service levels caused by the failure of telecommunications networks.
You must agree to Samsung’s terms and conditions in order to register and use Samsung Pay.
3. Using your Hume Bank Card with Samsung Pay
Your card can be registered with Samsung Pay to make contactless payments at participating retailers and online merchants.
To add your card, you must follow the procedures provided by Hume Bank. In doing so, we may require you to adequately identify yourself via a variety of mechanisms to authenticate your request to register your card with Samsung Pay. If we cannot authenticate your request to our satisfaction or if we suspect that there may be attempted fraud, we may decline the request to add your card to Samsung Pay.
Once your card is registered with Samsung Pay, you can use your Samsung Device and its security settings (such as passcode or biometric data) to authorise transactions on your account.
You need to select your card as the default card in your Digital Wallet to ensure your card is used to complete a transaction.
The transaction limits that apply to your card do not change as a result of adding it to Samsung Pay. When you add an eligible dual-network card to Samsung Pay, Visa is the default payment network that processes your transactions from your debit account. If you have an eftpos Cheque or eftpos Saving account and want to set one as your default instead of Visa, you can change it on your device.
When using a dual network debit card with Samsung Pay, depending on which networks are available to you, you may be able to select either the Visa or eftpos network to process your payment. Samsung Pay may not work when the Samsung Device is not within range of a cellular or wireless internet connection. If the Samsung Device has not had a cellular or wireless internet connection for an extended time there may be a delay before Samsung Pay works once reconnected.
Samsung Pay may not be accepted outside of Australia, or at all places where your Hume Bank Card is accepted.
4. Suspension or Termination of Samsung Pay
Hume Bank may suspend or terminate your use of Samsung Pay if:
- your card is cancelled, blocked or suspended;
- you breach these Terms and Conditions, or the Terms and Conditions listed under Clause 1.
- we, Samsung or a card network provider reasonably suspects fraud;
- if we are required to do so under any legislation or law, or if required to by a regulatory or government body;
- if our arrangements with Samsung regarding Samsung Pay cease or are suspended; and
- for any other reason we deem appropriate.
You must tell us straight away if:
- your card or Samsung device has been lost or stolen; or
- you suspect someone else has used your account without your permission or may have access to your Samsung device or know your security credentials.
You must immediately unlink your card from Samsung Pay if your supported Samsung device is stolen or lost.
It may be possible to make transactions using Samsung Pay after deleting or uninstalling the Samsung Pay application on a Samsung Device. If you no longer wish to use a Hume Bank Card with Samsung Pay, you should remove the Card from Samsung Pay prior to deleting/uninstalling the Samsung Pay application on your Samsung Device.
You can ensure that your Hume Bank Card cannot be used with Samsung Pay on your Samsung Device by:
- removing the Samsung account to which the Hume Bank Card was added in Samsung Pay;
- undertaking a factory reset of your Samsung Device; or
- erasing your Samsung Device on Samsung Device Manager.
If you fail to comply with any of the requirements stated in this clause, you are taken to have authorised any transaction made using Samsung Pay on your Samsung Device and as such, the transaction cannot be deemed as an unauthorised transaction.
Your card may also be removed from Samsung Pay where the Samsung Device has not been connected to Samsung’s servers for at least 90 days.
If your Hume Bank Visa Card registered with Samsung Pay is lost or stolen, you will still be able to transact using Samsung Pay while you wait for your new card. If you wish to stop transactions using Samsung Pay (e.g. when your Samsung Device is also lost or stolen) you must notify Hume Bank so that Hume Bank can remove the Hume Bank Visa Card from active status in Samsung Pay. A Hume Bank Visa Card loaded in your Samsung Pay that has a lost or stolen status will be automatically updated to the new card number once it has been activated.
5. Data Collection and Privacy

- Samsung can provide us with information, such as your Samsung device details, for purposes including providing customer support, detecting and managing fraud, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

- Hume Bank’s privacy policy (available at humebank.com.au/privacy) provides further details regarding the collection and handling of your information.
We are not liable for any losses you may incur, injury or harm you may suffer as a result of Samsung or a card scheme network’s use of your information. Should you not want to share this information, do not register your Hume Bank card in a digital wallet
6. Hume Bank’s Liability
Hume Bank will not be liable for any loss arising from your use of Samsung Pay to the extent the loss was caused by:
- Your fraud;
- Your failure to adequately secure your device, or protect any passcode used to access your device;
- Your use of Samsung Pay or the Samsung Device in a manner not permitted by Samsung (for example, by obtaining root access to your Samsung Device); or
- Subject to your rights under the ePayments Code, a reduced level of service caused by matters beyond our reasonable control (for example, those caused by third party software and network providers).
If you fail to comply with any of the requirements stated in this clause, you are taken to have authorised any transaction made using Samsung Pay on your Samsung Device and the transaction cannot be deemed as an unauthorised transaction.

You acknowledge that we may contact you electronically regarding changes to these terms or this service (e.g. via SMS, email, notifications in app), and that this is considered written notice for the purpose of these terms.
