About the role

We are looking for an Ultracs expert to join our Technology Solutions team in the role of Core Banking Specialist. The team is accountable for employee and customer facing applications in the bank. This involves multiple applications integrated through to our core banking platform. The team also assesses suitability, design and configuration of on premise and cloud-based business solutions to drive improved experiences for employees and customers.

The Core Banking Specialist is responsible for continuously improving and providing support to our core banking platform in helping the business meet its strategic objectives. This will include addressing faults, implementing changes, enabling improvement and managing supplier deliveries to ensure that the system is fit for purpose, consistently stable, and scalable.

This full-time role can be based remotely in Melbourne, accessing our CBD based office space and with some Working from Home, under a hybrid work model. Travel to our Head Office in Albury, NSW will be required on a regular pre-scheduled basis.

What you can expect

  • Work in collaboration with the business to understand needs, co-design solutions and deliver outcomes.
  • Continuously improve our core banking platform by analysing opportunities for enhancement, simplification and scalability.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer experience of Hume Bank’s core banking system and closely associated applications.
  • Manage appropriate vendor relationships, agreed SLA’s and contractual agreements.
  • Work collaboratively across all business areas to ensure assigned projects are completed to the required standards and timeframes.
  • Monitoring availability, service levels and stability aspects for the Ultracs Core Banking System.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot complex L2 technical issues across Ultracs our core banking application.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Development experience in Ultracs Core Banking System is a must
  • Relevant Tertiary degree (Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or similar) preferred, with 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar or equivalent role
  • Functional and/or technical knowledge of Ultradata Core Banking System and its modules
  • Functional and/or technical knowledge of Ultradata’s Internet Banking and Mobile Banking modules.
  • Experience in Financial Services or a related industry managing a core application or system
  • Understanding of MultiValue database systems e.g. UniVerse
  • Scripting and code development, including with PowerShell, BASIC, UNIX shell, Node.js or similar
  • Code management with GitLab or similar
  • Experience with Scheduling and automation of regular tasks in Ultracs

Our process

  • Once the role is closed, we review all applications against the requirements, creating a shortlist for further review.
  • If your application is successful, you may receive an initial screening call to further assess your suitability, before being invited to an interview.
  • We conduct two rounds of interviews, with the first interview being held with the supervisor and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second round interview with the head of the department.
  • The final stage is to compete some quick compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
