About the role

As the Procurement and Service Provider Business Partner at Hume Bank, you’ll lead the procurement function and vendor management ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices, particularly in line with CPS 230.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll be responsible for driving efficiencies, cost management, and ensuring compliance while supporting the business units to manage and maintain robust relationships with key vendors. As the subject matter expert, you will bring hands-on experience across the full vendor management lifecycle and impart your knowledge, experiences, and best practices across the business.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring all material service providers meet the Bank’s high standards for risk mitigation, governance, and performance, and ensure that the service provider oversight committee runs effectively.

Based in either Albury or Melbourne, the role will offer a unique opportunity to shape Hume Bank’s procurement and vendor management practices while driving compliance and efficiency.

What you can expect

  • Provide strategic oversight of the development and implementation of procurement and vendor management frameworks aligned with APRA standards, including CPS 230.
  • Lead the service provider oversight committee, ensuring effective monitoring of key service providers and third-party relationships.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for procurement and vendor management, providing training, support, and advice to the organisation.
  • Support contract negotiations, vendor risk assessments, and performance monitoring, stepping in to manage complex or high-risk relationships when needed.
  • Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, offering regular updates to executives on vendor performance and risks.
  • Collaborate with business units to foster a culture of strong vendor management and compliance with CPS 230 and related regulations.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in procurement or vendor management, ideally in financial services or regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of APRA regulations, including CPS 230, and expertise in managing material service providers.
  • Proven ability in managing Third Party Risk Management and Due Diligence Systems for vendor oversight and compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional committees and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen focusing on aligning procurement strategies with organisational goals.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

This is a full-time permanent position based at our Head Office in Albury, NSW. Flexible working arrangements, such as Working from Home are available when residing in the Albury area.

Our process

  • Once the role is closed, we review all applications against the requirements, creating a shortlist for further review.
  • If your application is successful, you may receive an initial screening call to further assess your suitability, before being invited to an interview.
  • We conduct two rounds of interviews, with the first interview being held with the supervisor and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second round interview with the head of the department.
  • The final stage is to compete some quick compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
