Product Manager – Lending

About the role

As the Product Manager for Lending, you will shape our lending offerings with a customer-centric approach, guiding them from concept to launch and beyond. This role involves comprehensive lifecycle management, ensuring that our lending product meets the needs of both current and future customers while aligning with our organisational strategy.

Working collaboratively across the business to bring new lending initiatives to life and reconsidering existing products, you will be a driving force behind creating our competitive advantage and navigating our organisation through an exciting period of market-leading growth at Hume Bank.

This full-time permanent position is ideally based at our Head Office in Albury NSW but may be considered for appointment at our Melbourne City office.

What you can expect

Reporting to the Head of Product, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, management, and enhancement of our lending products including credit cards, personal loans, mortgages, and business loans.
  • Develop and maintain compelling lending product sets, ensuring we stay ahead of market trends and remain relevant to our customers and community.
  • Implement product-based strategies, leveraging off data and trend analysis to meet customer needs, and achieve sustainable growth.
  • Contribute to the ongoing implementation of the strategic business plan and goals
  • Foster a culture of simplicity, efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement for our lending products.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Experience in product development, product ownership, and the end-to-end product lifecycle preferably with a strong focus on financial services product offerings – ideally in Lending.
  • Experience in developing pricing and margin strategies, ideally in interest rate determination, market and economic positioning, volume indicators, and fee structures.
  • Customer-centric focus and a passion for solving pain points and business challenges through innovative solutions.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset to support product strategy and develop compelling propositions to grow the portfolio.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience as a creative problem-solver with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • A strong understanding of multi-channel / product environments and contemporary digital trends in the financial services sector (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualifications in product management, marketing, finance, business or similar (desirable).

Our process

  • Review of applications and shortlisting.
  • Initial screening call to assess suitability.
  • Two rounds of interviews. The first interview being held with the reporting manager and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second-round interview with the head of the department.
  • The final stage is compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
