About the role

We are looking for an energetic, organised, and proactive Project Manager – Regulatory Projects to lead the effective implementation of regulatory initiatives outlined in Hume Bank’s Strategic and Business Plan.

Reporting to the Head of Transformation, you will be a driving force in managing key regulatory project implementations to strengthen our operational risk management. You will work closely with the Line 2 Risk and Compliance function to ensure successful project execution and adherence to regulatory frameworks.

This role will initially be for a 12-month term with an opportunity to review. The role will be based in our Melbourne CBD office space, with the flexibility of some Working from Home, under a hybrid work model. Travel to our Head Office in Albury, NSW will be required on a regular pre-scheduled basis.

What you can expect

Working cross-functionally with a variety of leaders and projects sponsors, across the end-to-end project lifecycle you will:

  • Develop, document and deliver projects professionally, to the highest quality, on time and on budget
  • Lead project teams to implement approved business cases, including management of all aspects of the project life cycle 
  • Lead and support continuous improvement of change management processes and the effective implementation of change initiatives 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope and develop business cases
  • Support internal stakeholders to build capability and apply Hume Bank’s Change Management Methodology to projects

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Proven hands-on experience in the end-to-end delivery of risk and regulatory compliance projects within a complex financial services environment cutting across various teams.
  • An understanding of ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC and/or other regulatory requirements and risk management disciplines, tools, methods and techniques.
  • Experience in managing key regulatory project implementations such as CPS 230 and CPS 220 will be an added advantage.
  • Able to engage with all levels of the business, from the CEO and Executives to team members, through proactive and structured stakeholder management and communication and reporting skills.

  • A Diploma in Business, Project Management or related discipline is desirable, as is certification in PMBOK, Prince2 or Agile.

Our process

  • Once the role is closed, we review all applications against the requirements, creating a shortlist for further review.
  • If your application is successful, you may receive an initial screening call to further assess your suitability, before being invited to an interview.
  • We conduct two rounds of interviews, with the first interview being held with the supervisor and a member of our People Team. You may be invited back to a shorter second round interview with the head of the department.
  • The final stage is to compete some quick compliance checks, before (hopefully) receiving an offer.
